The Vernon Hillbillies edged the Columbus Crowd in 10 innings at Long Grove CG
by the score of 4 to 3.
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Vernon won the game in
the 10th inning. Michael Toglia doubled giving Vernon the victory and
sending the 7,630 home-town fans home happy. Columbus out-hit Vernon 12 to
7, but Vernon ended up with more runs.
The win was credited to Anthony Banda(2-1) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. T.J. McFarland(3-4) was the loser in relief. He allowed 2 runs and 2
hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.
