Third baseman Eugenio Suarez had 4 hits and 5 RBI at Busch Stadium as the
Gotham Gold Gloves, running on all cylinders, ripped the Tampico Stogies by a
large 17 to 4 margin.
Suarez was a one-man wrecking crew. He smacked a single knocking in a run in
the 6th inning, doubled which was good for two runs in the 7th inning, ripped
a one-base hit in the 8th inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 9th
inning. Gotham bats were hot in the 7th inning which saw them score 6 runs
on 6 hits and the 8th inning with 6 runs on 6 hits. Overall Gotham out-hit
Tampico 22 to 7.
Kutter Crawford(8-10) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 8 innings. Trevor
Rogers(8-8) was given the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 12 hits and 2
walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
'I didn't feel that good when I came to the park tonight,' Suarez said. 'I'm
glad I decided to play!'
