Tyler Glasnow mowed down 12 New York batters and left fielder Jarren Duran had
5 hits and 2 RBI at The Bumble Box where the Borculo Bumble Bees beat the
league door-mat New York The Yanks 5 to 1.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Duran. He hit a bases-empty home run in the 1st inning, tripled
in the 2nd inning, tripled scoring a run in the 4th inning, slapped a
base-hit in the 6th inning and delivered a single in the 8th inning. Both
teams' bats went to sleep after the 4th inning with no runs scored after that
point.
Glasnow(11-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing 1
run. Luis Castillo(5-14) was hit with the loss. He pitched 6 innings
allowing 8 hits and 3 walks.
Steve Seydell was asked about the performance of Glasnow, 'He had his good
stuff out there tonight. The fans really get into it when the strikeouts
start mounting up - and that seems to give him even more adrenalin.'
