Jake McCarthy had 2 base hits and Cody Bradford delivered 8 solid innings as
the Aarlington Aardvarks bested the Hollywood Marines 4 to 1 at Aarlington
Field.
Hollywood fell behind quickly as the Aarlington offense came through in the
first inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Elly De La Cruz was the
sparkplug when he ripped a solo home run. Shohei Ohtani followed next and he
hit a single. Two outs later McCarthy came to the plate and doubled scoring
the final run of the inning. That was all Bradford(6-1) needed. Neither
team managed to score after the 3rd inning.
Kyle Leahy earned his 3rd save. The loss was charged to Merrill Kelly(1-7).
He gave up 7 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.
