Left fielder George Springer had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Leones Field where
the potent Caracas Leones beat the Palatine Cubs by the score of 6 to
4.
Caracas had the game winning rally in the 8th inning plating 2 runs on 3 hits.
Manny Machado started the inning off right when he ripped a base-hit.
Springer followed, but he was set down on strikes. One out later, Tyler
Stephenson then smacked a single plating a run. Stephenson took second on
the throw. Jake Cronenworth was up next and he laced a base-knock scoring
the final run of the inning. The Palatine batters went down meekly in the
9th.
The victory went to Buck Farmer(6-1) who went 2 innings, allowing 2 runs. Sean
Guenther recorded his 2nd save. The loss was charged to Declan Cronin(2-1)
in relief. Caracas scored big getting 3 runs off him in 2 innings.
