One run was the difference at Edsel Stadium as the streaking Gotham Gold
Gloves defeated the lifeless Vernon Hillbillies in 10 innings 4 to 3.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. Gotham won the hard fought contest in the
10th inning. Joey Gallo got things going when he cracked a two-run shot
resulting in an exciting win for Gotham and a wild post-game celebration by
the home town fans. Gotham and Vernon each finished the night with 7 hits.
The victory was credited to Raisel Iglesias(2-3) who went 2/3 of an inning,
allowing no runs. Shelby Miller(2-2) was the loser in relief. He gave up 2
runs and 1 hit without retiring a batter.
It was another victory for Gotham at Edsel Stadium. Now their winning streak
stands at 7 games.
