Jackson Chourio went yard and had 4 RBI at The Horseshoe as the Tombstone
Huckleberries won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the Columbus Crowd
by the count of 10 to 9.
Tombstone won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning when they
tallied 6 runs on 3 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Jose Ramirez
who silenced The Horseshoe as he doubled plating two runs. Columbus scored
in 5 different innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.
Kyle Hendricks(5-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Jhoan Duran was credited with his 22nd save. Andrew
Kittredge(4-4) was the loser in relief. He was unable to retire a batter and
surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk.
After the game, it took a long while before Frank Lopeman emerged from his
office. In a subdued tone he answered only a couple of questions. He
concluded with, 'Fellows, sorry I'm not in a very talkative mood tonight, as
I think you'll understand. I'm sure you'll find the banter a lot more
light-hearted over in the Tombstone locker room.'
