The Palatine Cubs broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 5 to
4 win over the pitiful Dublin Pubcrawlers and sending their hometown fans
home smiling.
Palatine scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Kevin
Newman drew a walk. Masyn Winn next to the plate and he drew a walk. Evan
Carter then laced a single to load the bases. Kyle Schwarber was up next and
he drew a walk giving Palatine the victory and sending the 7,850 home-town
fans home happy. Palatine finished with 11 hits in the victory.
Kyle Nicolas(2-1) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Ryan
Helsley(1-3) took the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning giving up 1 hit
