Josh Naylor smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Kauffman Stadium where the
Tampico Stogies beat the dreadful Palatine Cubs by the score of 14 to
8.
Naylor really lit it up for Tampico. The Palatine fans let him have it for
what he did to their boys. He delivered a single in the 2nd inning, smacked
a three-run homer in the 3rd inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 4th
inning and stroked a one-base hit in the 6th inning. Tampico had 17 hits for
the night.
Trevor Rogers(8-6) allowed 3 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Frankie Montas(5-8) was the losing pitcher. He was touched for 3
homeruns in his 3 and 1/3 innings of work.
Naylor said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate
tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple
pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'
