Frankie Montas carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning and Luis Robert had 2
base hits and 2 RBI as the Palatine Cubs defeated the Borculo Bumble Bees by
the score of 4 to 2 at The Bumble Box.
Montas(5-7) looked very much in control throughout the night. He didn't allow
much, just 1 hit and 3 walks in 7 innings. The right-handed Montas had his
no-hit bid broken up by Jarren Duran who homered with nobody out in the 6th
inning. Borculo threatened in the 9th but Palatine was able to put down the
rally.
Montas got relief help from David Bednar who gained credit for his 14th save.
Shota Imanaga(8-6) was charged with the loss. He pitched 4 innings and
surrendered 6 hits and no walks.
It was another victory for Palatine at The Bumble Box. Now their winning
streak stands at 6 games.
