Kyle Tucker blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Kyle Gibson carried a
no-hitter into the 7th inning at Streator Park where the Chicago Whales beat
the Streator Reds by the score of 7 to 0.
Tucker was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He clubbed a two-run home run in the
1st inning and lofted a three-run bomb in the 8th inning. Chicago rapped out
7 hits for the night.
The win was credited to Gibson(9-6) who went 8 innings allowing no runs. The
right-handed Gibson lost his chance for a no-hitter when James McCann doubled
with two outs in the 7th inning. Taj Bradley(6-12) was hit with the loss.
Despite losing, he struckout 9 Chicago batters in 6 innings.
