Bryan Reynolds blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Burbank Tigers staged a
dramatic comeback over the Aarlington Aardvarks by a score of 7 to 5 at
Aarlington Field.
Burbank erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning plating 3 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. Xander Bogaerts led off and keyed the rally when he
delivered a one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Phil Maton then threw
one that got by the catcher for a passed ball. Brent Rooker then stroked a
base-hit bringing in a run. Reynolds was up next and he clubbed a two-run
home run. Aarlington was out-hit by Burbank, 12 hits to 7.
Joel Payamps(2-4) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Robert
Suarez earned the save, his 33rd. Maton(4-4) absorbed the loss in relief.
Wes Davies was feeling mighty fine as he answered questions in his office
after the game, 'Now that was one fine ending! Did you see how the crowd just
sat there in silence after the winning run scored? Here we are celebrating
wildly, and the stadium is cloaked in virtual silence. Weird. but GREAT!'
