In a game for the baseball purist, Chris Bassitt(9-6) and Spencer
Arrighetti(5-11) squared off in a tense pitching duel, Tombstone
Huckleberries finally emerged victorious over hapless Vernon Hillbillies, 3
to 0.
Tombstone started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first when they came up with 2 runs on 3 hits. The early run support
proved sufficient for Bassitt and Tombstone. That was all the run support
Bassitt required. Vernon went down without a fight in the bottom of the 9th.
Bassitt got relief help from Daniel Coulombe who gained credit for his 2nd
save.
