Will Smith hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI and Michael Wacha came through
with a solid 8 innings as the Caracas Leones defeated the Dallas Gibsons by
the score of 3 to 0 at Truist Park.
Dallas was unable to recover after Caracas went ahead in the top of the 4th
inning scoring a single run on 2 hits. Tyler Stephenson doubled. Two outs
later Smith came up and he slapped a base-hit scoring the run. Dallas was
out-hit by Caracas, 9 hits to 5.
Wacha(6-10) was the winner allowing no runs in 8 innings. Kenley Jansen
recorded his 19th save. Jose Berrios(7-11) was tagged with the loss. He
pitched 6 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk.
Caracas continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 6 games and
counting. 'We've really come alive lately,' Alan Dyche said. 'We won some
tough games and I feel real good about this ballclub right now, and hopefully
we'll continue the roll we're on.'
