Nathan Eovaldi retired 10 batters on strikeouts and Andrew Vaughn hit 2
doubles as the Hollywood Marines topped the Chicago Whales by a score of 5 to
1 at West Side Park.
Eovaldi(6-11) gave a fine effort for Hollywood. He surrendered 6 hits and no
walks in 6 and 2/3 innings seeing his ERA drop from 4.76 to 4.54. Hollywood
had 10 hits for the night.
Jordan Montgomery got the save, his 2nd. Yusei Kikuchi(10-6) was tagged with
the loss. Eovaldi was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good
command of all my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on.'
