The Texas Flood edged the New York The Yanks at Lateralus Parabola by the
score of 3 to 2.
Texas plated all the runs they needed in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs using 3
hits. Jacob Young got things going when he doubled. Fernando Tatis Jr came
next and he was hit by a pitch. Riley Greene was the next batter, but he
struck out. Miguel Rojas followed next and he slapped a base-hit to load the
bases. Vladimir Guerrero Jr came to the plate and doubled plating two runs.
One out later, Jurickson Profar stepped in and he was walked intentionally to
load the bases. Ketel Marte stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk
scoring the final run of the inning. New York made it exciting in the 9th,
but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Luke Weaver(11-0) allowed 1 run in 3 innings, and picked up the victory.
Weaver was helped out by Emmanuel Clase who recorded his 13th save. Ryan
Thompson(3-5) was the losing pitcher in relief. He allowed 3 runs and 3 hits
in 2/3 of an inning.
Jim Calabrese was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our
guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one.
That is what really ticks me off!'
