First baseman Andrew Vaughn hit a homerun at Comerica Park where the Hollywood
Marines beat the ice-cold Palatine Cubs 4 to 3.
Palatine never recovered after Hollywood took the lead in the 7th inning
plating an isolated run. After two were out Bryson Stott reached on an
error. Trevor Larnach came to the plate and doubled scoring the run. Will
Vest was perfect in relief and got the save, his 3rd.
Carmen Mlodzinski(2-1) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win.
Pedro Avila(4-6) took the loss in relief. He was the victim of a defensive
lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
