Kutter Crawford whiffed 10 batters and Oneil Cruz hit one over the fence and
had 2 RBI as the Gotham Gold Gloves defeated the reeling Streator Reds 7 to 6
at Edsel Stadium.
Crawford(4-8) gave a fine effort for Gotham. He went 5 and 2/3 innings
surrendering 6 hits and no walks. Raisel Iglesias pitched a perfect ninth to
earn his 18th save.
Chris Sale(12-4) was given the loss. He was knocked around by Gotham,
allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. Mike Wilson was asked about the
performance of Crawford, 'He had his good stuff out there tonight. The fans
really get into it when the strikeouts start mounting up - and that seems to
give him even more adrenalin.'
