Gunnar Henderson had 2 base hits as the Chicago Whales topped the Palatine
Cubs in 10 innings by a score of 5 to 4 at West Side Park.
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. Chicago ended up
winning it in the 10th inning. Henderson laced a one-base hit. Pedro Avila
then bounced one in the dirt for a wild pitch making Chicago victorious to
the delight of the the home town crowd. Chicago won despite being out-hit by
Palatine 11 hits to 5.
Griffin Jax(7-6) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Avila(4-5) was the losing pitcher in relief. He was pinned with the loss
despite not allowing an earned run in his 2 innings of work.
