The hometown crowd was rewarded with a dramatic ending, as the Palatine Cubs
staged a comeback win over the Tombstone Huckleberries by the count of 6 to
5.
Palatine came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning plating 2 runs on 2 hits. Jackson Merrill kicked off the action when
he doubled. Kyle Schwarber next to the plate and he cracked a two-run shot
making Palatine the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.
Palatine finished with 7 hits in the victory.
Pedro Avila(4-4) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Jhoan Duran(2-6) was charged with the loss in relief. Wth the win Palatine
now has a record of 49-69. With the loss Tombstone now has a record of
68-50.
