Juan Soto slammed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Woodfield Roadkyll bested
the Columbus Crowd 12 to 6 at Englefield Green.
Soto enjoyed a great evening at the plate. Every time he came up in the
latter innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He hit a bases-empty
home run in the 1st inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 5th
inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in the 6th inning. Woodfield
ended up with 13 hits for the game while Columbus had 10.
Jared Koenig(4-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Freddy Peralta(6-6) ended up with the loss. He was not very
effective, surrendering 6 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
Soto was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the ball
real well now. I made some adjustments last week and they are paying off.
That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes along.'
