Paul Goldschmidt launched 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Joe Ryan dominated
striking out 13 Woodfield batters at The O.K. Corral as the Tombstone
Huckleberries beat the Woodfield Roadkyll 6 to 1.
Goldschmidt really 'lit it up' for Tombstone. He smacked a three-run homer in
the 1st inning, delivered a solo blast in the 6th inning and doubled knocking
in a run in the 8th inning. Tombstone banged out 7 hits on the night.
The victory went to Ryan(8-2) who went 8 innings, allowing 1 run. Joe
Musgrove(8-4) absorbed the loss. Although losing the contest, he whiffed 11
batters in 6 innings.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Ryan - except Woodfield. Mike
Gahalla lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our guys off
balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun
game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'
