Bowden Francis went 6 solid innings and Mookie Betts had 2 base hits at Busch
Stadium as the strong Borculo Bumble Bees beat the ice-cold Tampico Stogies
by the count of 3 to 2.
Borculo scored the deciding run in the top of the 9th inning. Betts laced a
base-knock. One out later, Matt Olson dug into the batters box next, but he
struck out. Cody Bellinger then reached on an error. Freddy Fermin followed
next and he laced a single scoring the run. The Tampico offense proved no
trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
The win was credited to Jason Foley(2-0) who went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing
no runs. The losing pitcher was Tanner Banks(2-4) in relief. He was a
hard-luck loser, pitching 2 innings and not allowing an earned run.
