Caracas fans certainly got their money's worth at Leones Field. Logan
Gilbert(11-4) pitched a rare no-hitter as the Caracas Leones toppled the
Tombstone Huckleberries 10 to 0.
Gilbert was just too much for Tombstone. He gave his hometown fans a game
they'll never forget! He did not even surrender a walk. The tension was
mounting with every inning after the 6th. Gilbert appeared oblivious himself
to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th. Only then, did he
allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the mound. Gilbert
chalked up 10 strikeouts. Caracas banged out 11 hits on the night.
Reese Olson(5-3) absorbed the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 5
runs in 2 innings. 'Gilbert made us look bad' Doug Salzwedel said. 'I've
seen a lot of good performances in my time and this one will be tucked away
in my memory bank for a long time to come'
