In a thriller the Hollywood Marines staged a dramatic comeback over the
Burbank Tigers winning by a score of 4 to 3 at Comerica Park.
Hollywood came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning with 3 runs on 3 hits. Josh Lowe led off and he drew a walk. After
an out was recorded, Austin Riley came up and he stroked a one-base hit.
Adley Rutschman was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Pedro Pages
followed next and he lined a base-hit resulting in a run. Brandon Nimmo came
up to bat and drew a walk to load the bases. Dansby Swanson added to the
outburst and doubled giving Hollywood the victory and sending the 30,555
home-town fans home happy. Both teams totaled 6 hits on the night.
Carmen Mlodzinski(1-1) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the
victory. Robert Suarez(0-2) was hit with the loss in relief. Brian Anderson
was ebullient after the game, 'It's great to win a hard fought game like
that. Our guys just weren't going to be denied. And did you see the fans -
they were going wild! Yes sir, a very enjoyable win tonight!'
