Chris Sale struck out 13 batters as the Streator Reds defeated the slumping
Hollywood Marines by the score of 3 to 0 at Streator Park.
Sale(9-2) dominated Hollywood hitters. He didn't allow much, just 4 hits and
1 walk in 8 innings. Sale got relief help from Tony Santillan who was
excellent in relief and gained credit for his 3rd save.
Jared Jones(5-6) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 7 innings and
surrendered just 2 hits and 3 walks. When asked about his strikeout total for
the game, Sale offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is fun to see them
tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept
them busy tonight - of course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
