Javier Assad pitched 6 and one third strong innings as the Streator Reds
pulled out a win over the slumping Hollywood Marines by a score of 2 to 1 at
Streator Park.
Streator scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, Jeremy Pena doubled. Christopher Morel came to the plate and
doubled resulting in an exciting win for Streator and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Neither team was able to score until the
7th inning.
Porter Hodge(3-1) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. The
loss was charged to Enoli Paredes(0-1) in relief. He pitched 1 and 1/3
innings allowing 3 hits and no walks.
