Matt Vierling touched them all and had 3 RBI at Truist Park where the Dallas
Gibsons beat the Vernon Hillbillies 6 to 4.
In the bottom of the 5th inning Dallas scored 3 runs when they came up with 5
base hits. Vierling led off and got things going when he stroked a base-hit.
After an out was recorded, Heliot Ramos stepped in and he ripped a single.
Alex Bregman then would hit into a force play which plated a run. Yainer
Diaz came up and he lined a one-base hit. Andrew Benintendi stepped into the
box and delivered a base-hit plating another run. Max Schuemann joined his
teammates in the uprising and ripped a single scoring the final run of the
inning. Dallas finished with 11 hits while Vernon ended up with 7.
The winning pitcher was Simeon Woods-Richard(6-7) who allowed 4 runs in 6
innings. Kyle Finnegan recorded his 11th save. Zach Eflin(7-5) was the
loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 2 walks
in 7 innings.
'He gutted it out' Steve Felson said of Woods-Richard. 'I was very impressed
by his tenacity.'
