Chris Sale dominated striking out 13 Tampico batters and Freddie Freeman hit 2
doubles at Streator Park where the Streator Reds beat the Tampico Stogies by
the score of 9 to 0.
Sale(7-2) was simply too much for the Tampico batters. He allowed just 3 hits
and no walks in 8 innings seeing his ERA drop from 2.50 to 2.29. Streator
finished with 9 hits while Tampico ended up with 4.
The loss was charged to Brayan Bello(2-9). He surrendered 4 runs and 4 hits
in 4 and 1/3 innings. The Streator fans were thrilled by the performance put
forth by Sale, but it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most.
'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a
loud cheer.' Ralph Madara said following the game.
