Rafael Devers had 2 base hits at Englefield Green as the Woodfield Roadkyll
beat the Texas Flood by the count of 4 to 2.
Woodfield had the winning rally in the 8th inning with 3 runs utilizing 5 base
hits. Jeff McNeil led off and got things going when he slapped a base-hit.
Daulton Varsho followed next and he clubbed a two-run home run. Will Brennan
was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. One out later, Devers
stepped in and he laced a single. Max Muncy stepped into the box and lined a
one-base hit. Isiah Kiner-Falefa joined his teammates in the uprising and
smacked a single scoring the final run of the inning. The game was a
scoreless duel until the 7th inning.
Matt Strahm(1-0) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2/3 of an inning. Andres
Munoz earned his 11th save. Bryan Hoeing(2-1) was tagged with the loss in
relief. He was not very effective, surrendering 3 runs in 2 innings.
