Michael Wacha went 8 strong innings as the Caracas Leones outscored the
Dyersville Jurassics in 10 innings 4 to 1.
Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings. Caracas was
victorious in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Jesse Winker
initiated the scoring spurt when he drew a walk. One out later, Bryce Harper
came up and he clubbed a three-run home run giving Caracas the win much to
the delight of the home town crowd. The teams had been locked in a scoreless
duel until the 8th inning.
Kenley Jansen(2-0) got the win allowing 1 run in 2 innings. The loss was
charged to Mason Miller(8-2) in relief. By giving up 2 runs in 1 and 1/3
innings his ERA increased from 0.57 to 0.83.
Caracas now has a record of a division leading 36-35. With this loss,
Dyersville has a 7-3 record of late, 44-27 overall.
