Jorge Soler went yard and had 2 RBI as the Chicago Whales defeated the Vernon
Hillbillies by a score of 7 to 1 at West Side Park.
Chicago took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning scoring 2 runs on 3 base
hits. Brett Wisely got things going when he doubled. Dane Myers stepped
into the batter's box and he reached on an error. Andy Ibanez then singled
resulting in a run. Ryan Jeffers followed and he grounded into a double
play. Marcus Semien came to the plate and delivered a base-hit scoring the
final run of the inning. Chicago ended up with 14 hits for the game while
Vernon had 6.
Derek Law(2-3) went 4 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Patrick
Corbin(3-11) was hit with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 13 hits and 2
