With the hometown crowd on the edge of their seats, Texas Flood came from
behind to top Dallas Gibsons, 3 to 2.
Texas erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning plating 3 runs on 4
base hits. Xavier Edwards led off and keyed the rally when he stroked a
one-base hit. Vladimir Guerrero Jr stepped up to the plate and he slapped a
base-hit. Corey Seager then ripped a base-hit which scored a run. Riley
Greene stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Fernando Tatis Jr
stepped into the box and drew a walk plating another run. Salvador Perez
kept the rally going and laced a single resulting in an exciting win for
Texas and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Both teams
ended up with 6 hits on the night.
Shelby Miller(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3
innings. The losing pitcher was Kyle Finnegan(2-4) in relief. Miller and
Bailey Ober were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come
from behind victory. As Greg Edens noted, 'A win like this one can do
wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the
players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
