Colton Cowser smashed 2 homeruns as the Burbank Tigers bested the Caracas
Leones 5 to 4 at Burbank Park.
Burbank came up with 4 runs in the 7th inning when they had 4 base hits. The
key offensive moment was provided by Michael Conforto who came through for
the home fans when he smacked a three-run homer. The teams had been locked
in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
The victory went to Josh Winckowski(3-1) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing
2 runs. Winckowski was helped out by Robert Suarez who recorded his 20th
save. Colin Rea(3-3) was the loser in relief.
The win by Burbank was very good news as they had been 1-9 of late. Now their
seasonal record improves to 26-37. Caracas, which had been on a roll, saw
their record drop to 30-33.
