2,595 fans were treated to a fine game at Edsel Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Dyersville Jurassics put a halt
to their 5 game losing streak and won by the slimmest of margins, 5 to
4.
Dyersville claimed the early lead in the first inning when they came up with 4
runs on 4 hits. The highlight belonged to Teoscar Hernandez who silenced the
stadium when he smashed a two-run homer. Dyersville and Gotham each finished
the night with 9 hits.
Aaron Nola(4-4) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings. Mason
Miller recorded the save, his 14th. Jack Flaherty(6-2) was tagged with the
loss. While he was the losing pitcher, he still struck out 10 batters in 6
innings.
'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were getting awfully
grim,' noted Jim Aldrich. 'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together
and turn things around!'
