With the hometown crowd on the edge of their seats, Tombstone Huckleberries
came from behind to top Texas Flood, 4 to 3.
Tombstone had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning as they scored
4 runs on 3 base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Zach Neto who made
the crowd come alive when he doubled with all three baserunners touching
home. Texas out-hit Tombstone 9 to 5, but Tombstone ended up with more runs.
Kyle Hendricks(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Trevor
Megill(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. Doug Salzwedel was in great
spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked about his feelings after
the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered, 'I'll tell you this much - I
know how my counterpart, Greg Edens, feels right now - and it's not very
good. It's terrible when you come up on the short end of one of these!'
