Third baseman Donovan Solano hit 2 doubles as the Dallas Gibsons won in
dramatic fashion over the Hollywood Marines by a score of 3 to 2 at Comerica
Park.
Dallas scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning scoring 2 runs on 3 base
hits. Heliot Ramos kicked off the action when he delivered a one-base hit.
After an out was recorded, Andrew Benintendi came to bat and doubled scoring
a single run. Jesus Sanchez then laced a base-knock scoring the final run of
the inning. Dallas had 10 hits for the night.
Chris Martin(2-1) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Jeff
Hoffman(1-1) suffered the loss in relief. Hollywood's manager was
understandably not very talkative after his team's tough loss. He quickly
showered and changed and when asked about the game had a terse, yet polite
response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to lose. Our guys gave
it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin' on us tonight'
