In a thriller the sizzling Texas Flood staged a dramatic comeback then held on
to win over the Burbank Tigers by a score of 8 to 6 at Burbank Park.
The game was decided in the top of the 8th inning. Riley Greene smashed a
bases-empty 'big-fly'. Burbank scored in 5 different innings, but their
shaky pitching kept them from victory.
The victory was credited to Tanner Scott(2-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Shelby Miller got the save, his 1st. Joel Payamps(0-3) was
hit with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning giving up 3 hits and 1
walk.
For Texas, the victory kept their winning streak on the march. 'It seems we
can't lose these days', Greg Edens volunteered after the game. Then after a
moment to reflect he lamented, 'Oh great! Now I've gone and jinxed us!'
