The Streator Reds and the Aarlington Aardvarks locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Streator Park. The final score was the Streator Reds 3, the
Aarlington Aardvarks 2.
Aarlington lost it in the 5th inning when Streator did all their damage as
they scored 3 runs on 4 base hits. The big moment was provided by Sal
Frelick who came through for the home fans when he tripled which was good for
two runs. Aarlington had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up
short.
The win went to Taj Bradley(2-1) who allowed 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Manuel Rodriguez preserved the game for Bradley, recording his his 2nd save.
Bryce Miller(3-1) was given the loss. He gave up 3 runs and 5 hits in 6
innings.
Ralph Madara was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we making good
contact, but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning
these tight ones! It was just our evening - no doubt about it!'
