Vladimir Guerrero Jr had 3 base hits as the Texas Flood defeated the Caracas
Leones 4 to 1 at Leones Field.
Texas came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning plating 3 runs
on 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Jacob Young keyed the rally when he
was hit by a pitch. Young took his lead and swiped second. Nolan Schanuel
then drew a walk. Xavier Edwards stepped in and he ripped a base-hit
resulting in a run. Guerrero Jr came up to bat and laced a base-knock
driving in another run. Corey Seager added to the rally and banged out a
single scoring the final run of the inning. The teams had been locked in a
scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
Luke Weaver(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Tanner
Scott preserved the game for Weaver, recording his his 2nd save. Buck
Farmer(0-1) took the loss in relief.
