The Burbank Tigers nipped the Jamaica Smoke in 11 innings 6 to 5 at Burbank
Park in a hard fought contest.
The score was tied at 3 after nine. Burbank won the hard fought contest in
the 11th inning. Max Kepler began the Burbank spurt when he doubled which
scored a run. Shea Langeliers followed next and he drew a walk. Ezequiel
Duran then drew a walk to load the bases. Trea Turner was up next and he
lined a one-base hit plating one more runner. D.J. Lemahieu followed, but he
was set down on strikes. Lourdes Gurriel kept the inning going and drew a
walk giving Burbank the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.
Burbank rapped out 9 hits for the night.
Luis Ortiz(4-4) got the win allowing 2 runs in 2 innings. Craig Kimbrel(1-3)
was given the loss in relief. He gave up 4 hits and 6 walks in 4 and 2/3
innings.
