Second baseman Nico Hoerner had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the blistering-hot
Caracas Leones came back to win one over dreadful Dublin Pubcrawlers, 4 to
3.
Caracas scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning plating 2 runs on 3 hits.
Mike Trout led off and started the attack as he laced a base-hit. Nolan
Jones dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Hoerner then stroked
a one-base hit. Bryce Harper followed and he doubled giving Caracas the win
as 55,107 happy fans joyfully celebrated. Caracas rapped out 9 hits for the
night.
The win went to Colin Rea(9-1) who allowed no runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
Roansy Contreras(3-5) was hit with the loss in relief. Alan Dyche was in
great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked about his feelings
after the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered, 'I'll tell you this
much - I know how my counterpart, Adam Smith, feels right now - and it's not
very good. It's terrible when you come up on the short end of one of these!'
