Tyler Wells dominated striking out 10 Chicago batters and Gabriel Arias had 4
hits and 2 RBI as the smoking-hot Tampico Stogies defeated the Chicago Whales
9 to 2 at Busch Stadium.
Wells(9-5) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He was stingy on the mound,
allowing just 1 hit and no walks in 6 innings. Tampico had 14 hits for the
game and Chicago had 3.
Kyle Gibson(15-9) was the loser. Rich Domovic was upset after the game. 'I
don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said.
'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in
the rule book.'
