At Lawton Stadium the Vernon Hillbillies put 6 runs on the scoreboard in the
8th inning and easily handled the slumping Jamaica Smoke in 10 innings by the
score of 12 to 8.
Both teams had scored 8 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Vernon pulled
the game out in the 10th inning. The biggest moment was provided by Jeremy
Pena who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he delivered a
one-base hit which was good for two runs. Vernon managed 12 hits in their
victory.
Ryan Brasier(3-3) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Craig Kimbrel(1-2) was given the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and 1
walk in 1 and 2/3 innings.
