Second baseman Marcus Semien launched 3 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Chicago
Whales defeated the Streator Reds by a score of 10 to 3 at West Side
Park.
Semien enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He clubbed a two-run home run in
the 1st inning, slapped a base-hit in the 4th inning, lofted a solo-blast
'downtown' in the 7th inning and clubbed a solo home run in the 8th inning.
Chicago finished with 13 hits in the victory.
Kyle Gibson(14-8) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory.
Chase Anderson(1-3) was tagged with the loss. He was touched for 7 homeruns
in his 8 innings of work.
Wth the win Chicago now has a record of 85-61. Streator can't seem to snap out
of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 1-9 record over the last
couple weeks.
