In a dramatic ending at Comerica Park the sizzling Hollywood Marines won in
their last at-bat beating the Holland Heffalumps by the count of 8 to
5.
Hollywood scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs. Dansby Swanson led off and he reached on an error. Adley Rutschman
came to the plate and drew a walk. Jarren Duran dug into the batters box
next, but he struck out. Austin Riley stepped in and he lofted a three-run
'big-fly' resulting in a mighty exciting win for Hollywood and the 47,878
home town fans in attendance. This was a game of many highs and lows for the
home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.
The victory went to Jeff Hoffman(7-2) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Jason Foley(5-4) was given the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning
giving up no hits and no walks.
