Designated hitter Pablo Reyes had 2 base hits at Lateralus Parabola as the
Hollywood Marines beat the New York The Yanks by the count of 7 to
6.
Hollywood took the lead for good in the 2nd inning when they tallied 3 runs on
2 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Adley Rutschman who deflated the
mood of the partisan fans when he laced a one-base hit bringing home two
baserunners. New York had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up
short.
The victory went to Jordan Montgomery(11-6) who went 5 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 6 runs. Montgomery got help from Will Vest who earned his 14th save.
The losing pitcher was Alex Cobb(8-4). He got hammered, allowing 7 hits and
2 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Jim Calabrese was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our
guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one.
That is what really ticks me off!'
