The Jamaica Smoke edged the Columbus Crowd at The Horseshoe by the score of 7
to 6.
Corey Seager had a big day with his bat. He smacked a single bringing in a
run in the 1st inning and smacked a three-run homer in the 7th inning.
Columbus tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Austin Gomber(1-13) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and
allowing 5 runs. Gomber was helped out by Mark Leiter who recorded his 1st
save. Freddy Peralta(6-7) took the loss. He allowed 7 hits and 3 walks in 6
innings.
'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Frank Lopeman said. 'We did
what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
