Left fielder Adam Duvall blasted 3 homeruns and had 7 RBI and Shohei Ohtani
pitched 6 strong innings as the Aarlington Aardvarks clobbered the outmatched
Burbank Tigers, 17 to 1.
Duvall was unconscious out there. While Burbank pitching was serving
softballs up there for him to hit, the Burbank fans were serving up some
hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel
for the fire. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the
1st inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 3rd inning, smashed a solo-shot
out of the park in the 5th inning and doubled plating two runs in the 9th
inning. Aarlington lit up the scoreboard in the 9th inning which saw them
plate 5 runs on 5 hits. The Aarlington offense smacked the Burbank pitching
staff around, scoring in 8 of the 9 innings.
The winning pitcher was Ohtani(9-8) who allowed no runs in 6 innings. Ohtani
got help from Julio Teheran who earned his 5th save. The losing pitcher was
Bailey Ober(3-7). He surrended 4 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3 innings.
