Left fielder Mike Trout went yard and had 2 RBI as the Caracas Leones defeated
the hapless Dallas Gibsons by a score of 4 to 2 at Leones Field.
Caracas tallied 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. James Outman led off
and keyed the rally when he was hit by a pitch. Trout came to the plate and
blasted a two-run home run. Dallas had a chance in the 9th but they came up
short.
The win was credited to Kevin Gausman(10-9) who went 6 innings allowing 2
runs. Gausman got relief help from Will Smith who gained credit for his 6th
save. Eury Perez(0-2) was charged with the loss.
'We just made a lot of mistakes, mostly mental,' Steve Felson said. 'It's bad
enough when the other team beats you, but when you start beating yourselves,
that's really bad.'
